Our History
Greenwood Furnace Co. was founded by Walter Zainey in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle in 1918 and quickly earned a reputation for providing quality products and services to its customers.
Over 100 Years of Quality Service
For years, we were under the impression that Greenwood was established in 1921. However, we recently discovered it was actually founded in 1918 thanks to a newspaper clipping from Walter’s granddaughter from a newspaper ad published in 1968 .
Business Expansion
In 1990, we were purchased by Pat Martin. Over the next 7 years, we quickly expanded and became the 46th fastest growing company in Washington. In 1999, we were sold to Service Experts, a national chain of service companies with over 200 locations controlled by Lennox International.
Back To Our Roots
In December of 2004, we changed hands again and went back to our Puget Sound roots of being owned by a local Seattle resident. Today we have nearly 100 dedicated professionals with the single mission of 100% customer satisfaction.
